In June 2024, I took on the challenge of restoring my Tiger Cat E1, a project that initially seemed insurmountable. The car was in a deplorable state, with completely non-functional electrics, a dashboard riddled with holes, and instruments that were beyond repair. To make matters worse, the engine cooling system was severely rusted, rendering the vehicle undriveable.
Over the next three months, I committed myself to this restoration, investing over £3,000 in spare parts alone. It was a daunting task, fraught with challenges, but the rewards were immeasurable. One of the key factors in my success was the support I received from the RHOCAR Club forum and the wider kit car community. Their expertise, shared experiences, and encouragement proved invaluable, providing the knowledge and confidence I needed to tackle each obstacle as it arose.
From sourcing hard-to-find parts to troubleshooting intricate issues, the collective wisdom of the community transformed what felt like an impossible task into a manageable project. Without their help, completing the restoration of my Tiger Cat E1 in such a short time frame would have been unrealistic.
This project was not just about restoring a vehicle; it was a testament to the power of community and shared passion. The transformation of my dilapidated Tiger Cat E1 into a fully operational car was an experience that highlighted the joy of collaboration and the importance of support in the world of kit cars.
Meet Eva, my restored Tiger Cat E1—a symbol of perseverance, dedication, and the incredible journey we embarked on together.
